ALUMAR Port is located at the São Marcos bay, on the west bank of the Sao Luis island, 5,5 miles south of the Itaqui Port. The port was built in the confluence of Cachorros' river (Rio dos cachorros) with the Strait of Coqueiros (Esterito dos Coqueiros) which was dredged to permit safe access to São Marcos bay.

Its location is found on the following coordinates: Latitude 02º 40' 42'' S and Longitude 44º 21'48'' W.

The dredged access channel in the Strait of Coqueiros is located between the Islands of São Luis and Tauá- Mirim.

The docking Wharf consists of a concrete platform of 252 meters of long and 19,6 meters wide, fitted with 9 fenders with distance of 29 meters from each other.

For loading Alumina à 14,00 meters.

Note.: For your best guidance, air draft here is the distance between the water line and the highest point between the hatch covers.

Note.: For discharging Caustic Soda, it is used facilities situated at the west side of the quay (hoses of 6" of diameter). The product is pumped out through the vessel's pumps.

07 - Potable Water supply
Water is supplied through pipelines free of charge, since requested with prior. However, in some seasons of the year, shortages of water can be faced due to draught.

08 - Fire Protection
The port is equipped with its own fire protection equipments composed of four hydrants with double outlet of 2 ½ inches of diameter and 60 meters of hoses.

09 - Bunker supply
It is allowed only through proper embarkations. However, as such embarkations are not available, bunker supply is not possible.

10 - Ballasting
Alumar terminal does not have facilities for receiving sewage waters, dejects or contaminated materials.
